Cockroach control in Doncaster

Cockroaches in a kitchen, flat or food business need treating quickly and thoroughly. We find where they're hiding, treat with gel baits and targeted sprays, and come back to check they've gone.

Which cockroach is it?

Two kinds cause most problems in UK buildings. German cockroaches are small, light brown and about 1.5cm long, with two dark stripes behind the head. They like warm kitchens and are common in flats, restaurants and takeaways. Oriental cockroaches are bigger, about 2.5cm, dark brown to black and slow-moving, and prefer cooler, damp places like cellars, drains and ground floors.

Signs of cockroaches

  • Cockroaches running for cover when you switch on a light at night
  • Small dark droppings like ground pepper or coffee granules in cupboards and behind appliances
  • Egg cases, small brown capsules, in corners and behind units
  • A musty, oily smell in bad infestations

How we treat them

Cockroaches hide in warm cracks: behind fridges and cookers, under sinks, around boilers and inside appliances. We inspect to find where they're living, then use gel baits placed in those cracks and, where needed, targeted insecticide sprays. Treatment needs follow-up visits, usually two or three, because eggs inside the egg cases hatch after the first treatment.

In flats and terraces, cockroaches often travel between properties along pipe runs and service ducts. If you're in a block, tell your landlord or managing agent, so the building can be treated as a whole.

What it costs

Cockroach treatment in the UK typically costs £100 to £280 per treatment in 2026 (Fantastic Services). You get a fixed price for the full course, including follow-ups, before we start.

Questions people ask

Do cockroaches mean my home is dirty?

No. They can get into clean homes from neighbouring flats, deliveries or second-hand appliances. Good hygiene does make treatment work faster, because it takes away the food they'd eat instead of the bait.

Can I use cockroach sprays from the shop?

Sprays can scatter cockroaches deeper into walls and make gel baits less effective. If you've already used something, tell us what it was.

I run a food business. Is this a legal problem?

Food businesses must have adequate procedures for controlling pests, and a cockroach infestation can lead to action from environmental health. See our commercial pest control page.
